When I started doing research for this topic, I had no idea that their holiday baskets for dogs. I think it’s a cute idea, but unusual. Do you by presents for your pets? My son byes his boxer a new ball at least twice a month. Diesel (his dog) does not need another ball in a different color. Im the one who has to keep picking them up or searching behind doors or under the couch for his favorite colored one.
Why am I posting about dogs in a kitchen-gadget site?
Well, think about it. In 98% of households the dog’s food bowl, water bowl and toybox is in the corner of your kitchen. It’s usually the mom who has to feed the dog twice a day, bath once a week and make sure the dog has all his vaccinations. So usually, the command center for the household is in the kitchen.
Just how much do people love their pets?
Im basically talking just about dogs here. In every city or town their are stores strictly dedicated to your pets needs. There are dog services that you can get a monthly dog box with treats and a toy. I even saw a story about a bus that picks up your dog and taking them to doggy daycare. Some pets do not like to be alone so they will tear your house up, some do it even if they are left home for anonly an hour.
The only true spoiling for our dogs (other than treats) is we take our dogs to Tractor Supply in our area, for $10.00 you get to bath your dog their But You have to do the bathing. They even have white luxurious towels to dry your dog off.. There are shampoos of every kind, conditioner, brushes for scrubbing and detangling. When you are finished bathing and drying himoff and you are about out the door, one of the emploees gives my dog a treat. I have two boxers and they love it.Now that is spoiling.Would you believe their are doogie spas? know that shocked me.
Where can you purchase your holiday basket for your pet?
big box stores, doggie stores, amazon, walmart etc.. You can also make one yourself. You can use any type of container. I would put these items in a basket. Dog cookies, bones, a new toy….Just let your decorative self have fun. PersonallyI think its cost effective to make your own.
Dog cookie cutters
I personaly like the one shaped like a bone. There are others pertaining to dogs.
Recipe for home made peanut butter treats.
Preheat the oven to 350 F. Combine flour, eggs, and peanut butter in a large bowl to make a thick crumbly dough. Add water, one tablespoon at a time, until you can form the dough into a large ball. On a clean floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thick. Use cookie cutters or a knife to cut into individual treats.
