Kitchen Counter Tops

Have you wanted to redo your kitchen but on a tight budget? Just some new paint and maybe new kitchen counter tops. There is such a wide variety to choose from. Today I want to focus on quartz counter tops.

Granite counter tops

are no longer the King of Kitchen Counter tops. Quartz is the most popular one now. Here is a brief refresher on quartz counter tops. Man made engineered contain at least 90 percent of ground of quartz, which is mixed with resin, your choice of color is then added then molded into slabs. You can choose any color you can think of with this type of quartz. This type of counter top is made up of little of mineral versus mined slabs. Quartz is also an environmental choice. The radon level that is released is next to nothing.

The feel of engineered stone have also changed.its now available with a softer brush feel, more pitted like volcano rocks. This leads to a softer feel.

Maintenance

Quartz is one of the most low maintenance materials around. Very durable, no etching, cracks, stains or chips. MAN MADE STONE I is nonporous and very resistant too mold and bacteria. Can clean with just soap and water. The only downside is that its not that heat-resistant. You must use a potholder or trivet under a hot pot.

Cost and Manufacturers

Quartz cost is about $80.00to a $100.00 per square foot installed.

Manufacturers include Consent, DuPont, Cambria, Cesastone, and technistone

What is the most durable Granite or Quartz

Quartz is actually harder than granite and thus, more durable

In fact, quartz is nearly indestructible, and because it isn’t porous like granite, it’s easy to keep your counter tops relatively bacteria-free.

Your feedback is important to me

Do you have quartz counter tops? How do you feel about them? Do you find that they are less maintenance?

I hope this helps in making your decision.
